Anjali Nandi, MA, LAC, MAC, is the program director at Center for Change and is a bilingual
psychotherapist specializing in providing individual and group therapy to clients with addiction, mood
instability and trauma.  Her credentials include a Master’s degree in Somatic Psychology, a State of
Colorado Licensed Addictions Counselor, a Nationally Certified Master Addictions Counselor, Certified
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapist and a member of the International
Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.  Anjali provides trainings nationally in areas like
Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Evidence-based Practices and Assessment.  She also provides
workshops with Drs. Wanberg and Timken to support the use of MI in CBT curricula.  She is co-author of
The Probation and Parole Treatment Planner (a Wiley publication) and is currently working on a multi-
media package on Motivational Interviewing for the National Institute of Corrections. She has been
involved in several evaluations of probation systems (e.g., State of Connecticut, Cook County) and
therefore brings this experience in the addictions and criminal justice field to leading the Center for
Change.  

Elbert M. Hartman, MA, CAC III specializes in working with individuals and groups focusing on
addiction, trauma, mood disorders and relationship dynamics. He has worked extensively with adults and
at-risk adolescents in the criminal justice system with high success in reducing relapse rates.  
Additionally, he has provided therapy for clients with a wide range of mental health diagnoses including
personality disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a long-term meditation practitioner, Elbert
combines meditation with Gestalt psychotherapy and Enneagram typology to enhance the effectiveness
of psychotherapy.


Joe Soma, MA, MS, CHT, LPC has a degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa
University, an MS in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton, and is a certified Hakomi therapist. He
is currently in private practice with offices in Boulder, Denver, and Longmont where he works with
individuals, couples, and families. He has group experience in the areas of Domestic Violence, Parenting,
Anxiety in children, and Drug and Alcohol groups with adults and adolescents.




Miriam Becker, MA, CAC II earned a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from Naropa University in
1998.  She currently has a private psychotherapy practice in Boulder.  She has extensive experience
leading groups for women involved with addiction.  She has also facilitated outdoor experiential for young
people in trouble with the law.  Miriam has also worked with Native Americans in a Residential
Rehabilitation Center.


Kristen Brickl, MA earned her Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from Naropa University. She has a
therapeutic bodywork background, with training in Gestalt, evidence-based, and Mindfulness-based
modalities. She utilizes education, attachment theory, and various supportive and challenging
therapeutic approaches to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. Kristen‘s commitment is to value people’
s strengths, and relationally explore the many possibilities to create movement towards health.  





Donna Cooper, MA, earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of
Colorado. She has several years of counseling experience working with people dealing with addictions,
crisis issues, and habitual patterns they want to change. Her style involves using positive high regard for
the individual as well as facilitation of healing through their own inner strength, both mental and spiritual.
She has a private counseling practice in Gunbarrel.  


Christi Strickland, MA has been facilitating therapeutic and educational groups for youth and adults for
the past 15 years.  She earned her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University
and is also an adjunct faculty member there, teaching courses in group dynamics, systems theory,
community development, and leadership.  She has served as Assistant Director of a wilderness program
for adjudicated youth and is also trained as a grief counselor.  Her therapeutic and group style is holistic,
direct and oriented towards health.



John Guy, MA is a contemplative psychotherapist specializing in leading groups through therapeutic,
educational, and task oriented processes. His mindfulness-based approach harnesses intrinsic health to
convert challenges into choices, growth, and wakefulness. He lives and works in Boulder, Colorado and
has been adjunct faculty at Naropa University.
